A few words about Kea (or Tzia)
Kea is the sixth in size island of Cyclades, the closest one to Attica, ideal for your short time escapes! Apart from that, the favorable winds that usually blow over it and its countess coves, make it a paradise for sailing boats with Vourkari Bay being the epicenter of it.
The island features an intense geological relief, a thick vegetation and the Cycladic architecture with the stone houses, and the diversity of their colours creating an enchanting setting.
Kea is a unique destination for the diving fans. Many shipwrecks lie on the seabed around it, and many small caves are scattered along its coastline, worth to be explored. The two most important caves of Kea are Trypospilies in Kalamos and Agios Timotheos Cave in Agios Panteleimonas.
Ιn Ioulida, you’ll feel like living in a fairytale! The capital of Kea is built on a rock, dating back in ancient times, with an ensemble of houses which turns into an orange colored setting every sunset. Walking on the uphill alleys, you'll find restaurants and cafés to eat or drink, after having visited Xyla, the beautiful beach with its small cove and its crystal-clear waters. It's worthwhile to stay till late in the afternoon and watch the sun setting behind Attica, especially if you are in a romantic mood.
