A few words about Patmos

Patmos is a small island, on the northern portion of the Dodecanese. Contrary to other islands of the Dodecanese, Patmos is a volcanic and barren island with scarce vegetation.

The island of the Apocalypse, of the cosmopolitan style and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can discover its mystical character, its deep connection with religion and its inner peace.

Explore the dark cave where John is said to have written the Book of Revelation, the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian, one of the oldest and most important monastery centers, the whitewashed alleys at Chora with its impressive mansions, and the hermitages, or "Kathismata" as they are called in Patmos.

Patmos has picturesque beaches with crystal-clear water. Petra is a calm pebble beach, with the Rock of Kalikatsous on one side. Vagia is a famous beach with coarse sand, near the port. Kambos, one of the trendiest beaches of the island with calm crystal-clear waters and sand. Grikos a sandy beach with crystal-clear water and salt cedars, and the Didymes (Twin) beaches, two calm and sandy beaches, located side-to-side, also referred as Ligginou beaches.

It's worth tasting the local cheese Kalathotos and the Pouggakia pastries.
