HELLENIC SEAWAYS is a member of Attica Group, which is active in passenger shipping through the companies SUPERFAST FERRIES, BLUE STAR FERRIES and AFRICA MOROCCO LINKS (AML) with a total of 30 vessels offering modern, high-quality transport services in Greece and abroad. Its fleet ships travel to 4 countries in 59 unique destinations, approaching 71 ports. Attica Group is a member of the Marfin Investment Group (MIG), with majority holdings in leading companies.
The aim of HELLENIC SEAWAYS is to offer its passengers innovative services, high quality service, luxury and comfort, turning this way the journey into a unique experience. With more than 18 years of presence in Greek passenger shipping, HELLENIC SEAWAYS has a fleet of 17 conventional and high-speed vessels and approaches more than 36 destinations in island and continental Greece, offering its passengers comprehensive on board high quality services.
The investment program
As of 2005, the company has embarked on a new course of development, implementing an extensive investment plan of integrating new ships and extending the destinations it serves.
In 2005, HELLENIC SEAWAYS added five new ships to its fleet: the newly built HIGHSPEED 5, the fastest passenger/vehicle ferry in the Aegean, with a maximum speed of 41 knots and a cruising speed of 38 knots, the newly built passenger/vehicle ferry NISSOS MYKONOS, built entirely in Greece, FLYINGCAT 5 and FLYINGCAT 6 (Catamaran ships), that replaced six flying dolphins (hydrofoils), and the Hellenic Voyager (Ro-Ro) that serves in transporting trucks.
In 2007, the company acquired 4 more ships: the newly built passenger/vehicle ferry NISSOS CHIOS, that was also built in Greece, the passenger/vehicle ferry ARIADNE and two Ro-Ro type ships, the Celtic Sun and the Hellenic Master.
HELLENIC SEAWAYS has successfully brought into effect the investment plan involving the purchase and building of 9 new ships, two among which entirely built in Greece, thus supporting the workers of the shipbuilding zone of Perama and the shipbuilding yards of Elefsina and Skaramagas, which proves the company's commitment to substantially support the Greek shipbuilding industry.
Furthermore, the company was expanded with great success to new coastal routes. In 2007 the newly built NISSOS CHIOS was routed to Piraeus - Chios - Mytilene. Within 2007, the refit of the super luxurious ship ARIADNE was also completed in Greece. It is the largest passenger/vehicle ferry in Hellenic coastal navigation in garage capacity, and was routed to Piraeus - Ikaria - Samos.
In 2016, HELLENIC SEAWAYS extended its fleet to include the completely rebuilt HIGHSPEED 7 and HELLENIC HIGHSPEED as well as NISSOS SAMOS.

Ιν 2016 HELLENIC SEAWAYS' Smart Ticket / Web Check-in web service was awarded a SILVER at the GreekTourism Awards in the Pioneering service / concept - start up category.
In 2014, HELLENIC SEAWAYS was voted "Best Company of the Year 2007 for Passenger Shipping" in the Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards 2014, for exhibiting high service standards and offering pioneering services to passengers.
In 2009, HELLENIC SEAWAYS was the voted the Best Coastal Transport Company – Internal by the readers of Condé Nast Traveller.
In "Lloyd's List Greek Shipping Awards 2007", HELLENIC SEAWAYS was voted "Best Company of the Year 2007 for Passenger Shipping" and the newly built passenger/vehicle ferry of the company, NISSOS CHIOS, which was entirely built in Greece, was given the award of the "Best Ship for the Year 2007".
In 2007, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels awarded HELLENIC SEAWAYS as Tourist Business of 2007, for its pivotal role in upgrading and further developing Hellenic coastal navigation and sea transportation in the wider Greek island area.
In 2006, the distinction of the "Best Ship of the Year" by the same institution had been given to the also newly built passenger - vehicle ferry of HELLENIC SEAWAYS, NISSOS MYKONOS, which was awarded the "Green Star" certificate of environment protection by the Italian classification society RINA. The ship has been fully adapted to all the regulations required to ensure the prevention of pollution from all its operations, including the training of its crew to control all substances that are damaging to the environment.
The ongoing modernization and growth of the fleet and the upgrade of the services provided to the passengers constitute a constant commitment and a strategic goal for the company.
